We spent one night at the farm on a whim when Pippa was born. We decided it was the easiest way to get to see her, so we packed up quickly on a Saturday morning, and drove to the Bluff House. The weather was perfect with quite a bit of fall in the air, and the girls were so excited to get to be outside. It’s so fun to watch them get bigger and gain enough confidence to do a little wandering on their own. Vivi, Brigette, and Ellie enjoyed walking from Grandpa’s shop to the Bluff House, all on their own.
Chip and the girls went fishing, and to their delight they caught several bream.
Ellie took Marjorie on her first gator rides, and Marjorie did not want to stop. They especially enjoyed riding in circles on the poured concrete that will become the foundation of the new shed by the Bluff House.
It was also just chilly enough for a fire, so Chip built one and we enjoyed s’mores together.
It was such a fun trip, and a good reminder that we don’t have to be there long for it to be fun. It was just one night, but felt much longer. We are excited to hopefully see more progress on the shelter next time we come to the farm, and can’t wait for more s’mores!
